Clear Creek Trail

Clear Creek Trail
Bloomington Parks and Recreation
Church Lane
Bloomington, IN 47402
Phone: (812) 349-3700

Clear Creek Trail is 20.8 acres, stretching 2.4 miles from Country Club Drive past Tapp Road to Church Lane, and connecting to the existing Bloomington Rail Trail.

The entire length of the Clear Creek Trail is wheelchair accessible. The Bloomington Rail Trail, which connects to the Clear Creek Trail just north of the 1887 historic bridge, is not accessible.

Clear Creek Trail was acquired in 1997 by 12 separate purchases with the City of Bloomington Utilities. A ‘linear park’, this trail offers an alternative means of transportation and represents a long-term commitment to connect public facilities by routes that do not require vehicles. Phase I of the Clear Creek Trail between Tapp Road and That Road was opened on May 23, 2001. Phase II from That Road to Church Lane is scheduled to open to the public on Oct. 30, 2003.

The 150′ wrought-iron bridge was moved from its original home in Warren County where it spanned a river since 1887. The bridge was painstakingly restored, then placed over Clear Creek near the Church Lane trailhead on August 1, 2003.
