The boat ramp at Moore’s Creek State Recreation Area is usable during high water. There is a picnic shelter house there as well as superb rocky shore fishing.
The Lake Monroe Sailing Association is located at Moore’s Creek State Recreation Area.

BlueBird Trail (1.25 miles) Moderate—Forest and field trail in Paynetown State Recreation Area.
Tree Trek Trail (0.5 mile) Easy—Forest Ecosystem interpretive trail in Paynetown State Recreation Area.
Turkey Trot Trail (1.75 miles) MODERATE—Hike- In/Boat-In Camping Area in Allen’s Creek State Recreation Area.
Whitetail Trail (1 mile) MODERATE—Access trail for walk-in visitors at Paynetown State Recreation Area.

Turkey Trot Trail (1.75 miles) MODERATE—Hike- In/Boat-In Camping Area in Allen’s Creek State Recreation Area. Allen’s Creek Road is accessible from Indiana State Road 446.
Allens Creek State Recreational Area is a hike in camping facility and features primitive camping. The trail back to Allens Creek State Recreational Area is located at the Allens Creek State Recreational Area boat ramp. There are fossil beds in the lake below the camp ground.

There is a public beach at Fairfax State Recreational Area. The Fourwinds Resort & Marina has tennis courts, miniature golf, boat ramps, indoor/outdoor pool and a marina.

This state operated recreational area on the northeast siode of Lake Monroe offers electric and non-electric camping, boat rental service, a marina with gas sales and a camp store. The DNR-staffed Interpretive Center is located near the park entrance. Entrance fee or state park pass required.

The 1,200 acre Hardin Ridge recreational complex is located on the shores of Monroe Reservoir. Located just southeast of Bloomington, the area is easily accessible from State Highway 446. The area offers camping, picnicking, boat launching, swimming, nature walks, and interpretive programs in a forested environment.
